Chelsea looking to attract affordable housing to city-owned land

CHELSEA, MI — Chelsea is in need of more affordable housing options, and officials want to attract developers to change that.

City officials are gearing up to market a city-owned property to developers in an effort to increase affordable housing stock in the city.

A request for proposals to develop about 2.75 acres at 1155 Old Manchester Road is in the works. The city-owned property is vacant but used as a Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority recycling drop-off.
