Husband and wife among 4 charged for impersonating police during home invasion

AUGUSTA TWP., MI — A husband and wife, along with two others, were charged for impersonating police and pistol-whipping at least one person during a home invasion.

Several masked people impersonated police and forced entry into a home in the 10000 block of East Willow Road in Augusta Township around 8:26 a.m. on Jan. 4, according to a release from Michigan State Police.

The home was occupied by a man, a woman and their 3-year-old child, police said. The intruders reportedly pistol-whipped one of the trio and zip-tied the two adults before demanding money…
