From a back shelf to center stage, this all-school assembly was 26 years in the making.
Pattengill librarian Marlana Evans found a forgotten 1999 time capsule tucked away on a back shelf in the library four years ago. When a former student reached out in December asking if they’d ever opened it, staff realized there was a special piece of Pattengill history waiting to be unveiled.
Principal Valeska Bass opened the 26-year-old time capsule during an all-school assembly on Monday. Inside were treasures from 1999: a black and white school yearbook, letters from students, and other artifacts that gave students a window into what school life was like back then…
