A line of thunderstorms will develop late this afternoon over southeast Michigan. There could be some severe weather associated with these thunderstorms.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has outlined the part of Lower Michigan where severe weather could occur in the second half of the afternoon and evening.
SPC is not forecasting tornadoes or severe hail larger than one inch in diameter. The forecast below shows where brief, scattered wind gusts over 58 mph could occur.
I expect a broken line of thunderstorms to develop in the mid-afternoon around the Lansing and Kalamazoo areas and then head east into Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint, Saginaw and the Thumb.
