Downtown Chelsea deli serves up savory subs, “Stingray” clubs and more

CHELSEA, MI – A downtown Chelsea deli has become a community favorite through more than three decades of business.

Mike’s Deli, founded by local Mike Goodwin, has changed hands several times since it opened in 1992, but honors its namesake by serving up several of his original recipes. Since 2013, the business has been owned by Ann Arbor native Todd Bennetts.

Known for fresh ingredients and creative naming schemes, the restaurant uses Zingerman’s breads and deli meats sliced each day. Mike’s current menu features more than 80 numbered sandwiches broken down into sections based on which meat takes center stage…
