Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for Southeast Michigan until 9PM Friday, with 60 mph winds and lightning possible

DETROIT (WWJ) — Forecasters say strong winds, hail and frequent lightening are possible with thunderstorms expected in Metro Detroit Friday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for a large chunk of Lower Michigan, as well as parts of Indiana and Ohio, in effect until 9 p.m. on June 27.

This area includes all of Southeast Michigan and the WWJ listening area, including Bay, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Monroe, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties…
