There is a risk of a few isolated, lower-end severe thunderstorms in southeast and south-central Lower Michigan this afternoon and evening.
The severe weather outlines from the Storm Prediction Center show you exactly where isolated severe thunderstorms are possible.
Thunderstorms are developing now (2 p.m.) over northeast Lower Michigan into central Lower Michigan and also over far southern Lower Michigan. The dark green area in the map above shows where some of these thunderstorms could produce the quick severe weather conditions of a strong wind gust or large hail.
Tornadoes are not in the forecast. The isolated damaging wind gusts forecast below shows Lansing, Jackson, Ann Arbor, the entire Detroit area, Flint, Saginaw, Bay City and the Thumb in the chance of a brief wind gust over 58 mph.
Just about the same area could have some isolated large and damaging hail. Make sure to park any vehicles you can in the garage…
