SALINE TWP., MI — Ten minutes down a dirt road southwest of Saline is a farm with an orderly pile of rocks. Next to the rocks are shovels, a four-wheeler, a sled and signs reading $1, $10, $20 and on.
The piles on Macon Road are the creation of 11-year-old Tucker Lambert, who hopes to attend the University of Michigan and sells rocks to pay for college.
Tucker digs the rocks out of neighboring farmer’s fields, where, if they were left in the ground, they would damage farm equipment. From there he organizes the rocks by size, $1 for the smallest rocks and $50 for the biggest ones…
