UMich cancels doctoral epidemiology program admissions for 2026

The University of Michigan School of Public Health will not admit a new cohort to its PhD in Epidemiologic Sciences program for the 2025-2026 admissions cycle, citing major disruptions to research funding and fellowship support.

According to a departmental email sent Monday, students who were deferred or admitted through dual-degree programs and are scheduled to begin in 2026 will enter the program as planned. The department also hopes to resume admissions for the fall 2027 class. However, no new applications will be accepted this cycle.
