Ann Arbor hotel’s poorly-maintained pool caused woman’s bacterial infection, lawsuit says

A 23-year-old Flint woman who underwent three surgeries on her leg in July due to an antibiotic-resistant bacterial infection has filed a lawsuit against an Ann Arbor hotel owner, claiming the hotel’s poorly operated and maintained swimming pool caused the infection.

Alexis Williams is out of the hospital now, but in a heavy leg brace and still receiving intravenous antibiotics daily. She said she has been told by doctors that if they can’t get the bacterial infection under control, there’s a possibility her leg could require amputation.

“I’ve gone through a lot of pain and suffering, and still currently am,” she said. “I’m very frightened, very nervous and just appalled by everything.”…
