11 drivers arrested for DUI over 6 days in Troy

TROY, Mich. – Eleven people were arrested for driving under the influence over the span of six days in Troy, police said.

According to The Criminal Defense Center of West Michigan, “warmer weather brings with it an uptick in travel, outdoor events, and social activities, many of which involve alcohol. As a result, DUI rates tend to increase during the summer months of June, July, and August.”

Between Aug. 3 and Aug. 9, officers conducted a series of traffic stops and investigations resulting in the arrests of 11 individuals for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol in Metro Detroit.
