Attorneys for Matthew Weiss, a former University of Michigan offensive coordinator who is accused of stealing intimate photos of nearly 150,000 student athletes in a hacking scheme, said Tuesday that the federal government is attempting to “turbocharge punishments” for what they consider a “routine computer trespass.”
