Four-star pitcher Lucy George heads to Michigan

For the second straight week, Michigan has added a four-star arm to the 2027 recruiting class. Lucy George from the Louisville Lady Sluggers Huecker/Norwood squad announced her pledge to be a future Wolverine on Friday.

“As soon as I stepped on the campus, it felt like a home away from home,” George said. “The coaches are amazing and they make you feel like you are part of their family. Having that kind of influence from a coaching staff was important to me because I wanted to feel like I could talk to them about anything. The best thing I ever heard from a school is what they told me on my visit: “You’re not committing to Michigan for 4 years, you’re committing for a lifetime.” Hearing that made me feel like I could have a home at Michigan forever. Also, Michigan is going to help me grow in the game by giving me the tools to be a standout pitcher. I’m looking to make an immediate impact for the pitching staff and help Michigan get to the highest level.”

George is an elite arm on the mound with the ability to limit opposing offenses with spin and control. She can hit locations and get swings and misses on her late-breaking rise ball. She forces hitters to sit on one side of the plate as she has great East/West command of the zone…
