A 33-year-old Michigan man is in custody following a bizarre and dangerous incident where he allegedly stole an ambulance with a paramedic and a patient still inside.

Police Chief Erick Zinser confirmed that Changlin Li, 33, of Novi, faces a slew of charges, including carjacking, after allegedly taking the Medstar ambulance while he was being treated for a separate crash on Friday, October 24.

The chaotic chase saw the stolen vehicle hit speeds of 70 miles per hour through a construction zone before it ended in a second crash in Northville Township.
