BLOOMFIELD HILLS – Phyllis Stafford, the 95-year-old Milford driver sentenced to nine months of house arrest in April after she struck and killed a Novi woman was back in court on Tuesday requesting to be allowed to leave her home to go back to work at a local courthouse.
Judge Diane D’Agostini of the 48th District Court appeared stunned at the request that came 67 days shy of the end of the 270-day home confinement. Stafford also requested community service alternatives to D’Agostini’s original order that Stafford speak to teens and senior citizens about the dangers of distracted driving.
