MICHIGAN — A 15-year-old boy from Carleton died early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle on North Telegraph Road, according to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough.
The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on northbound N. Telegraph Road, just south of Paree Street. Investigators said the teen was walking south along the northbound shoulder near the white fog line with a 14-year-old friend from Newport when he was hit by a 31-year-old Newport woman driving northbound.
Sheriff Goodnough said the driver initially believed she had struck an object and stopped at a nearby gas station. After noticing significant damage to her vehicle, she went to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident…
