Students at Ann Arbor high school briefly ‘hold’ in place while authorities break up fight

ANN ARBOR, MI – Students at one Ann Arbor high school were briefly held in place on Tuesday while authorities broke up a fight — in one of two instances of a police presence near a school that drew speculation on social media.

Chris Page, spokesperson for the Ann Arbor Police Department, said officers responded to Huron High School, 2727 Fuller Road, just before noon on Tuesday, Nov. 5, for a fight involving students.

Principal Ché Carter notified parents that Huron was placed “in a hold” because of the “physical altercation between several students” in a message Tuesday afternoon, and that AAPD was called to assist school administration…
