SOUTH LYON – The Wendy’s restaurant at 440 S. Lafayette St. is closed as of Nov. 17.”We are permanently closed. Wendy’s is gone,” said Jamia Stewart, who answered the phone at the franchise location on Monday morning and identified herself as the general manager. She declined further comment.
South Lyon DDA Executive Director Kim Rivera said that according to building permits, the city’s Wendy’s had been in business for nearly 30 years, opening in 1997.”I’m sorry to see any business decide to go,” Rivera said. “I want to see every business here thrive.”The South Lyon restaurant closure comes just 10 days after Wendy’s Interim CEO Ken Cook announced plans to shutter hundreds of locations nationwide.
