Ann Arbor to close streets to move house of World War II hero Raoul Wallenberg

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus has seen all sorts of changes in recent years, but one old home will be saved from the wrecking ball: the former home of World War II hero Raoul Wallenberg.

Campus expansion has threatened the home at 308 East Madison Street for years. In May, university regents approved a request to move the home to a parcel on South Division Street — ironically next to a one-time home of playwright Arthur Miller.
