Talks over data center rules likely to return to this Michigan township in early 2026

PITTSFIELD TWP., MI – It could be a couple months before officials in one township south of Ann Arbor return to discussions over how they’d regulate data centers at a public meeting.

The reason? They pressed pause on allowing data center developments while they mull over an already-drafted ordinance addressing them.

“I don’t have an exact date, but sometime in January or February,” said Ben Carlisle, planner for Pittsfield Township. “I don’t think there’s going to be significant changes. I think there’s going to be opportunities for refinement and inclusion of additional provisions that the township would like to consider.”…
