Milan Native and WCC Graduate Opens Family Play Space for Local Community

Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is marking its 60th anniversary by recognizing alumni achievements. Olivia Carpus is one such alumna. She began her studies at WCC over ten years ago and later co-founded The Play Station, a community play space in Milan, Michigan.

Carpus graduated from Milan High School in 2013. She enrolled at WCC and pursued a Child Care Professional associate degree, now called Child Development. She completed the program in three years. In 2016, Carpus transferred to Liberty University online and earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education Interdisciplinary Studies in less than two years.

In September 2023, Carpus and her brother, Garrison Mull, opened The Play Station. The space serves as a gathering place for local families, providing an area for children to play and adults to meet.
