LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has released dash cam footage of their response to a Friday night call that led to an allegedly intoxicated driver ramming a patrol car and pushing it out into the middle of I-96.
The incident happened at around 10:20 p.m., when deputies were dispatched to westbound I-96 near Spencer Road in Brighton. Upon arrival, responders found a vehicle stopped in the road.
Police say the driver, who was identified as Eric Stein, 44, had the car in drive and his foot on the brake and appeared to be unconscious.
Video shows an officer repeatedly knocking on the driver’s side window and yelling at Stein until he wakes up.
When the officer shines his flashlight inside the vehicle, Stein appears to be staring ahead and not responsive to the officer or his commands to put the car in park and exit it…
