Man who threatened Chelsea residents to serve 2 years of probation

ANN ARBOR, MI – A 25-year-old man who threatened Chelsea residents concerned about his driving will be on probation for two years.

Maxwell Nowak was sentenced to two years of probation on Nov. 25 by Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Carol Kuhnke, according to court records. He was sentenced under a Cobbs agreement, a deal struck with the sentencing judge, after he pleaded no contest to assault with a dangerous weapon and reckless driving.

Nowak is accused of threatening several people in Chelsea who expressed concern about his driving in late August. Chelsea police had been called around 5:11 p.m., Aug. 28, to the 1100 block of South Main Street for a report of a felonious assault, police previously said…
