Thousands of Ann Arbor community members walked through the Ann Arbor Farmers Market Friday evening drinking traditional German glühwein and warming their hands by the fire pit at the annual Kerrytown KindleFest Market. At the other end of the market, Ann Arbor Pioneer High School Choirs caroled and local dancers performed pieces from “The Nutcracker.”
Hosted by the Kerrytown District Association, KindleFest was a part of Ann Arbor’s Midnight Madness, an annual holiday event where businesses in the Main Street, State Street and Kerrytown districts offer extended hours and discounts.
Festive lights, decorations and people filled the walkways to celebrate Christkindlmarkt, a Christmas market with German origins. More than 50 artisans and vendors sold holiday wares alongside six local food trucks.
