ANN ARBOR — Dusty May is usually pretty locked in to the action on the court. But Michigan’s coach occasionally allows himself to appreciate what he’s seeing. It happened a few times in Tuesday’s 89-61 win over Villanova.
Michigan’s first possession of the second half resulted in an alley-oop for Morez Johnson Jr. after he’d attempted to free a teammate for a different shot. There was another possession where the Wolverines were scrambling defensively, recovered multiple times and denied Villanova a clean shot. That kind of intensity and unselfishness makes May and his staff proud.
“When we’re watching the game it’s like, ‘Wow, man, what these guys are doing is difficult.’ They’re getting all of this newfound attention and love and whatever and they’re still serving their teammates and trying to play the right way.”…
