The Michigan head coaching job has suddenly opened up and while many top candidates are seemingly off the market due to new jobs or new contracts, the job is so prestigious that it could sway a top coach to leave regardless.
That’s the hope for some Michigan fans as ESPN’s Pete Thamel announced today that Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea could be “a wonderful fit” for the Wolverines. Lea was just named the SEC Coach of the Year for the second season in a row, but recently signed a massive six-year contract extension with the Commodores that runs through the early-2030s.
