$200 rebates available to Ann Arbor residents who ditch gas snowblowers

ANN ARBOR, MI — Ann Arbor is offering financial incentives to get residents to ditch gas-powered snowblowers this winter.

For residents who trade in a gas snowblower, the city now provides rebates knocking up to $200 off the price of an electric snowblower or snow shovel.

The city’s sustainability office, which is on a mission to get Ann Arbor off fossil fuels, launched the new rebate program Dec. 8. It runs through March 1 or until funding is expended…
