ANN ARBOR, MI — As Ann Arbor officials look ahead to 2026 and beyond, they’re thinking a lot about housing and how to expand supply to curb rising costs.
Sweeping zoning changes to allow more housing density throughout the city are expected to start next year under a new land-use plan awaiting City Council adoption. That includes doing away with single-family zoning and allowing three-story duplexes and triplexes anywhere there’s a single home today, plus more mid-rises and high-rises in various areas.
