Ann Arbor man’s ’complex’ 1986 cold-case homicide investigation reopened

NORVELL TOWNSHIP, MI — Police are renewing their investigation into the slaying of a 25-year-old Ann Arbor man who vanished in June of 1986.

The decomposed body of Robert L. Stuewe was discovered near Wamplers Lake Road and Deer Ridge Lane in Jackson County’s Norvell Township in August of 1986, Jackson County sheriff’s officials said in a statement released on Saturday, Dec. 20. Stuewe had been reported missing in Ann Arbor two months prior to the discovery of his remains.
