Washtenaw County Sheriff sues over ‘unconstitutional’ HR department takeover

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — Washtenaw County Sheriff Alyshia Dyer is suing the county after its board voted to take control of the office’s human resources-related tasks.

The sheriff’s office filed a lawsuit in Washtenaw County Trial Court on Tuesday, Dec. 23, requesting the court to intervene and stop the enforcement of the board’s decision to move four HR positions in the sheriff’s office to county administration.
