Debate continues as Ann Arbor growth plan heads toward vote, short-term rentals an issue

ANN ARBOR, MI — After many hours-long meetings spent discussing and tweaking the city’s debated growth plan, the Ann Arbor Planning Commission has given some of its final directions to the city’s planning team.

Commissioners finished making another round of edits to a third draft of the comprehensive land-use plan Tuesday night, Jan. 6, while discussing everything from short-term rental regulations to language around sustainability goals and whether the proposed titles of different districts are too confusing.

The city’s planning consultant is expected to work through January incorporating suggested edits to bring a fourth and possibly final draft back to the commission in February…
