The National Weather Service issued an updated special weather statement at 11:09 a.m. EST on Wednesday until 1 p.m. EST for Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties.
“A narrow snowband is currently located along a line extending from Coldwater to Lansing to Owosso and tracking east-northeast around 35 to 40 mph. A quick half inch of additional snow accumulation remains possible with this band. Air temperatures range between 21 and 27 degrees. Winds are south-southwest at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph,” says the weather service. “Accumulating snow will lead to snow covered and slippery roads particularly on bridges, exit ramps, and overpasses. Pockets of moderate snow will cause reductions in visibility to a half mile in the band.”
