WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — The family of a man killed by police in Washtenaw County plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the sheriff’s office, according to a attorney who said he is representing the family.
“This is a fatal O.K. Corral shooting of a man that did not have a gun, nor did he post a threat of great bodily harm or imminent danger as far as physical harm to another,” said Todd Flood, a Detroit-based lawyer. “It should have never taken place.”
Flood said he represents the estate of a 34-year-old St. Clair man who was killed by Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies in a Jan. 6 shooting. Four deputies are on administrative leave and under investigation…
