Michigan Olympian Hobbs Kessler sets world record in 2,000-meter run

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan Olympian Hobbs Kessler set a world record over the weekend at the New Balance Grand Prix.

The Ann Arbor native finished the 2,000-meter race in 4 minutes, 48.79 seconds, an indoor world record. The previous record, 4:49.99, was set by Ethiopia’s Kenenisa Bekele in 2007.
