WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office will launch contact visitation at the county jail later this week, allowing residents to physically embrace family members for the first time in more than a decade.
The policy change means parents will be able to hug their children, and families can hold hands during visits, replacing a system that limited interactions to video screens.
