Wayne County Leads Michigan in Total Lottery Spending

Wayne County racked up $1.06 billion in lottery sales during 2025. That’s more than any other county across Michigan. The Metro Detroit region accounted for over $2.17 billion of the $4.4 billion spent on lottery games throughout the state last year, as per MLive.

Montmorency County topped every other county in per capita spending with $9.11 million in sales per 10,000 residents—a staggering figure for a small population, as shared by MLive. This Northern Michigan county posted $8.95 million in total sales among just 9,828 residents.
