PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – Eastbound and westbound traffic has been closed on a section of Ellsworth Road near the Pittsfield Township-Ann Arbor border after a gas leak was reported early Thursday night.
An initial emergency alert was sent shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, by the University of Michigan’s Department of Public Safety and Security, advising residents to steer clear of the intersection with South State Street.
According to the Pittsfield Township Police Department, Ellsworth was closed between State and South Research Park Drive after a construction crew reported a ruptured natural gas line. An unspecified number of vehicles reportedly sustained damage from the gas release…
