‘Probably hunting squirrels’: See hawk with its prey on University of Michigan’s campus

ANN ARBOR, MI – It was a typical Thursday afternoon before spring break for students at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

The sun was out and students had on jackets in the near-28-degree weather on Thursday, Feb. 26. Suddenly, a red-tailed hawk grasped an animal carcass on a tree between Shapiro Library and West Hall.
