A walk through Ann Arbor showcases garbage and graffiti — but the city wants to change that

Welcome back to A2 Outlook! This week, The Michigan Daily reported on the effects of trash and graffiti on the local community, a proposed train route running through Ann Arbor and Traverse City and a workers’ strike at a local coffee shop, Moka & Co.

The Ann Arbor community has increasingly complained about the presence of trash on the ground near State Street and graffiti on the walls of buildings throughout the city. On April 20, the Ann Arbor City Council will vote on the Downtown Development Authority’s Tax Increment Financing Plan, which would increase the amount of tax revenue going toward upgrades to the city’s streets and sidewalks. With that money, the DDA is proposing a service team to clean up garbage and vandalism around the city…
