ANN ARBOR, MI — The old Pinball Pete’s arcade and the Galleria Mall it called home are no more.
The decades-old building on South University Avenue is mostly reduced to rubble after recent demolition work that’s still underway in part of Ann Arbor seeing significant change.
The old mall and an adjacent apartment building off Forest Avenue are being cleared to make way for an 18-story apartment high-rise called The Metropolitan.
Meanwhile, the 19-story Chapter high-rise is rising across the street at the northeast corner of South U and Church Street, between the University Towers and Vic Village North high-rises.
A block further down, the 19-story Hub on Campus Church high-rise development is moving forward on a recently cleared site at 625 Church St., next to Rick’s nightclub.
Just to the south, the 17-story Rambler high-rise is rising at 711 Church St., promising even more apartments catering to the University of Michigan’s growing student population…
