The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 5:05 a.m. EDT on Tuesday for strong thunderstorms until 5:45 a.m. EDT for Livingston, Oakland and Washtenaw counties.
The storms are foreseen to bring penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph.
“At 5:05 a.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Stockbridge, or 13 miles northwest of Chelsea, moving east at 55 mph,” adds the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.”…
