Man accused of killing, burying grandmother argued with her over job, school

PITTSFIELD TWP., MI – The silence hung thick Tuesday as a detective described how a man recounted killing his grandmother.

Ronald Savoy Fleming, now 31, told police his grandmother had been able to escape a chokehold during an argument the pair had in her Ypsilanti Township home, testified Detective Heather Morrison with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

“She turned towards him and tried to claw at his face,” Morrison said. “So he grabbed Theadra around the throat with both his hands and strangled her until he felt her neck snap.”…
