Waterloo police say a statewide Amber Alert for a missing 12-year-old child ended safely Sunday after officers in Michigan located the suspect vehicle. Within about an hour of the alert being issued on April 5, detectives were notified that the vehicle had been found in Coloma Township, Michigan, and that the child was safe.
According to the Waterloo Police Department, detectives have charged 23-year-old Daniyal Khan of Ann Arbor, Michigan, in connection with the incident. Khan is charged with second-degree kidnapping, indecent contact with a child and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Police said Khan was taken into custody and booked into the Berrien County Jail in Michigan, where he is currently being held. Authorities said no additional information will be released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing…
