Supervisor exit follows gravel mine proposal and police chief resignation

NORVELL TWP., MI – Norvell Township Supervisor William Sutherland has resigned.

Sutherland submitted his resignation to the township Board of Trustees at the end of its Monday, April 20, meeting. In a statement, he said he ran for office to make a difference but no longer feels the drive and passion the role demands.

“The township deserves someone who can bring that full energy every single day,” Sutherland said. “After careful thought, I believe stepping aside is the most responsible and constructive choice.”…
