ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington police have arrested a suspect in connection with the March 2026 shooting death of 20-year-old Malachi Hayes.
The department said in a news release that homicide detectives obtained a warrant for 20-year-old Aleq Holmes on a charge of capital murder. On June 4, members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force found Holmes in Grand Prairie and took him into custody.
The shooting happened March 26 at a convenience store in the 2100 block of East Abram Street. Officers responding to the scene found Hayes unresponsive in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died…
