We are just days away from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and fans are counting down the hours until kickoff. Teams around the world are getting in the last few friendlies and trainings before the games begin on Thursday.
With both Arlington and Houston hosting games, Texas cities are expecting fans and visitors from all over the world. Four World Cup teams are calling Texas home during the cup: Sweden, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Czechia and Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is based out of Austin’s Q2 Stadium. Even though there won’t be any matches in Austin, the anticipation for the cup to start is felt throughout the city.
