Woman killed in crash that shut down White Settlement Road near Fort Worth

A woman was killed in a crash that closed White Settlement Road in west Tarrant County for several hours early Tuesday, officials said.

A sport utility vehicle swerved off the road, hit a car and then crashed into a tree, according to a Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office news release. The driver was trapped inside and died at the scene.

Deputies were called to the major accident in the 10000 block of White Settlement Road near Silver Ridge Boulevard East about 7:50 a.m. All lanes of White Settlement Road were closed for several hours while the crash was being cleared.
