Texas Child Exploitation Crackdown Ends With 276 Arrests and 89 Children Rescued During Two-Month Operation Authorities Say

DALLAS, TX — A two-month child-exploitation crackdown across Texas led to 276 arrests and the rescue of 89 children, federal and local authorities said this week.

Officials described Operation Soteria Shield as one of the state’s largest coordinated efforts against online predators. The sweep ran from March through April 2026 and involved FBI Dallas and dozens of law enforcement agencies.

Charges span abuse material, trafficking and assault

Authorities said those arrested face allegations including possession, distribution and production of child sexual abuse material, online solicitation, trafficking and sexual assault.

The 89 children rescued included victims investigators had not previously identified. Officials said the cases remain active and more charges are expected as forensic reviews continue.
