Fort Worth naval base ranks among Texas’ biggest military economic engines

The Naval Air Station Fort Worth contributed at least $4.6 billion to the Texas economy, according to a report from the Texas Comptroller.

The base had the fourth-largest contribution to the Texas economy out of the 14 military installations in the state. Joint Base San Antonio had the highest economic impact, with $53.5 billion.

Fort Hood ($37.9 billion) and Fort Bliss ($29.1 billion) were the only other installations with a higher economic impact than Fort Worth. In total, the 14 installations contributed over $148.8 billion into the Texas economy…
