$2M pedestrian safety project at Fort Worth’s Camp Bowie West intersection in the works

The city of Fort Worth plans to install a traffic signal, marked crosswalks and redesigned left-turn lanes at Camp Bowie West Boulevard and Broadmoor Drive intersection.

Roughly 23,000 vehicles pass through the section each day, project manager Abby Tucker from the Fort Worth Department of Transportation and Public Works said during a June 16 community meeting at the R.D. Evans Community Center. Tucker and Kimley-Horn engineer Abhishek Acharya presented the plan.

“There have been many pedestrians observed crossing Camp Bowie, either to go to Western Hills High School or other areas,” Tucker said. “We did a site visit to go out here and take a look at the design, and it was a little scary having to cross.”…
